Lana Del Rey “Blue Jeans” Official Music Video

Currently Playing.

{Nowhere: “an unknown, distant, or obscure place or state”}

In an attempt to wake myself from the daze that losing an hour to daylight savings time has left me in, I decided to do something productive: design myself a mixtape. Nothing special or over the top, just something to get the brain juices flowing. I’ve decided to make this a sort of regular thing; a series if you may. This is Nowhere: Volume One.

“New” Music Tuesday.

Today I decided to get off my ass and finally partake in some of the movements taking place in the real world; finally getting around to listening to albums I’ve either had sitting around collecting dust (Florence + The Machine “Ceremonials” // Sleigh Bells “Treats”), albums that I should’ve already owned (The Dear Hunter “Act I: The Lake South The River North” // Lana Del Rey “Born To Die”), actual new music (Odd Future “Unreleased Volume 4” // Sleigh Bells “Reign of Terror”) and artists that I had only had brief passing encounters with (A$AP Rocky “LIVELOVEA$AP”). It’s safe to say that not even one of the albums/mixtapes encountered were a disappointment; all were solid, if not extraordinary additions to my iTunes library.

Title: Off To The Races Artist: Lana Del Rey 901 plays

Lana Del Rey “Off To The Races”

“And I’m off to the races, cases of Bacardi chasers
Chasing me all over town
Cause he knows I’m wasted, facing
Time again at Reiker’s Island and I won’t get out
Because I’m crazy, baby I need you to come here and save me”

Title: We've Got A Score To Settle (Red) Artist: The Dear Hunter 31 plays

The Dear Hunter “We’ve Got a Score to Settle”

“Calm down, you wont gain any ground, if you’re shaking from head to toe.
And if you wake up, you’d be weary to lie, ‘Cause discerning eyes will know.
Your words carry the weight of the world and they’re waiting for that shoe to drop,
So you sit down, you give in and they get up and they yelled!

Someone’s got blood on their hands!”

Title: What Makes A Man? Artist: City and Colour 71 plays

City & Colour “What Makes A Man?”

“I can feel the wind blowin’
It’s sending shivers down my spine
I can feel the wind blowin’
It shakes the trees and the power lines
What makes a man spend his whole life in disguise?
I think I know
I think I might know”
